Unboxing Experience
The safe arrived in a plain brown box with nylon straps to keep it secure and in one piece. No outside branding is appreciated and hides what’s on the inside.
The box came in decent shape, though one of the straps was missing, and nothing was damaged or missing on the inside. We give the packaging an A-.
Under the outer box, the inner box is fully branded and is in near-perfect condition.
The Fast Box is covered in plastic wrap to keep the finish intact and free of blemishes.
Once you open the safe with the included barrel key, the rest of the accessories are found on the inside in their respective bags.
Here she is in all her beauty with no damage to report.
This safe comes with an under-bed mounting kit for those who plan on using it in that configuration. There are many ways you can mount this safe, though, that we’ll get into later in the article.

First Impressions
First impressions are off to a good start from the exterior appearance. The semi-gloss black finish looks and feels nice.
It’s important to note that this is not a traditional rifle safe but a modular gun locker with a solid door that hides the contents inside.
Most commercial gun lockers in military and state applications have see-through grated doors locked with external padlocks.
In this sense, the SecureIt Fast Box falls somewhere in between a gun locker and a gun safe.
To most people unfamiliar with what a real gun safe is (including most petty thieves), the Fast Box would easily be mistaken for a gun safe from its outer appearance.
Turning our attention to the front panel, we can see the simple and clean layout with 4 push buttons, a turn handle knob, and the backup keyed access just below it.
On the inside, you will find a very basic interior showing the modular louvered grid panel system that SecureIt is known for.
The only thing else left is a thin, removable, foam layer for use in the horizontal position.
The 4 push buttons utilize Roman numerals and aren’t painted or backlit, so they’re not the easiest to see in the dark.
The easiest way to find them at night is by feeling the notches cut into each button. We recommend keeping a flashlight nearby!
SecureIt uses this modular system to incorporate its proprietary and patented CradleGrid technology, pistol mounts, storage bins, and shelves.
A single hardened locking lever and two small deadbolts on the top and bottom of the door offer decent pry resistance for a quick-access gun locker and will ensure no unauthorized access from known persons will occur.
However, this system is not going to be very robust enough to resist any serious pry attacks from determined thieves.
Of course, pry attacks can be mitigated with careful placement in a location that limits the ability of a robber to gain any real leverage. It also helps to hide the safe in less obvious locations.
Pro Tip: If using this safe with the included under-bed mount, it’s wise to only keep weapons in there while you’re at home, or asleep, and store them in a more robust safe while away from home.
Setup and Programming
The setup process for the SecureIt Fast Box Rifle Safe is straightforward and user-friendly. It comes with pre-drilled mounting holes and the necessary hardware, enabling secure attachment under traditional bed frames.
The programming of the digital keypad is simple and allows you to set your personalized access code, providing an added layer of security.
With the door lid flipped down, you can see the SecureIt badge that doubles as the battery lid along with the reset button covered by an orange cap to the far right.
Pro Tip: Install the included 9V battery before proceeding to the next step.
Step one is opening the safe with the backup key and locating the reset button underneath the orange cap. Once located, pull the orange cap off and short-press the button once.
Choose a code up to 8 digits in length and enter the code. Once the code is entered, short-press the program button again to set the new master code into memory.
Close the door and lock the safe by turning the knob and check to see if the master code was set correctly. If it opens, you’re done with programming. If not, start over from step one.
Below, you can see the holes for the adjustable mounting feet and the smaller holes for mounting the brackets that will be affixed to the bed frame.
The SecureIt Fast Box Rifle safe can be installed and mounted in several ways, such as in car or truck trunks, floors, under a bed or desk, in the closet, and elsewhere (some mounting options are more challenging than others).
Storage Capacity
The SecureIt Fast Box Rifle locker can hold 2 rifles of any type up to 47 inches in total length.
As you can see in the pictures below, it can comfortably store my AR and AK with scopes, accessories, and magazines attached and ready to go.
You can also fit up to 2 handguns with the purchase of some SecureIt pistol hanger pegs.
If you want to take advantage of the full 47″ length of this safe, you can buy a couple of pistol hangers below and hook them into the back wall where space allows.
Depending on the length of your rifles, this may or may not be an option but shouldn’t be a problem with most standard rifle lengths.
